Sexy Salad & Nostalgic Run

If you read yesterday's entry, you know that I was feeling down about everything I ate. I figured today, I would simply balance out the bad with lots of good.

Here's my mean & very green salad I had for lunch.

I packed this salad to the brim in vegetables and other goodies! It included spinach, broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, peppers, onions, cucumber, half an avocado, mozzarella, and almonds. I topped it with some low fat Zesty Italian dressing.  I gobbled this so fast! It was fresh, crunchy and tastefully satisfying! I threw in a low fat yogurt on the side because I was craving some fruity goodness! I can't wait until more fruits are in season!

Prior to my salad extravaganza, I did a road run by my parent's.

I have missed my old running route...and road running, believe it or not. I feel like the road has so many options while the trail just goes one direction or the other. It gets old after using it for a few months.

Anyway, I went from mom & dad's and circled out by my old high school.

Ignore how bad I look!!!

Ah, nostalgia! So many good/bad memories!

I did nearly 8 miles in 1:10:48. Not bad, if I do say so myself.

This week, I'm really going power through some 10ks since I have the Hershey race this weekend. I really want to have a good time, but being unfamiliar to the route, I may be somewhat at a loss. I'm still hopeful though!

When you eat badly, do you try to balance it with something ridiculously good for you?

What are you feelings on road running? Do you like it better than trail, treadmill, or both?

Any upcoming races you're preparing for? Anyone going to be at Hershey, PA for the 10k this next Sunday?
